Home care nursing in Kochi

In Kochi and across Ernakulam, Doczo nurses visit homes in Kakkanad, Edappally, Kalamassery, Kaloor, Vyttila, Panampilly Nagar, Tripunithura, and Aluva. Much of the work follows a discharge from hospitals such as Amrita, Aster Medcity, and Lisie Hospital: dressings, injections, drains, and catheter or Ryles tube care in the first weeks at home.

Our in-house doctor supports Kochi nurses by video, reviewing prescriptions and discharge notes and advising when something needs escalating. Care coordinators plan your visits around each patient’s care plan, so you can focus on the patient in front of you.

What you’ll do

Each task is tagged with the qualifications we assign it to. Within that, your duties also depend on your experience and what you are confident doing.

• Wound dressing

  Sterile dressing of surgical wounds, diabetic ulcers, and pressure sores, watching for signs of infection.

  Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as prescribed, with safe sharps disposal.

• IV administration

  Prescribed IV fluids and antibiotics for stable patients at home, checking vitals through the infusion.

• Catheter and Ryles tube care

  Urinary catheter and Ryles tube care that follows the hospital’s or doctor’s plan.

• Colostomy care

  Stoma pouch changes and skin care, and showing the family the daily routine.

• Post-surgical and post-discharge care

  Medicines, wounds, and drains in the first days at home, escalating fever, swelling, or unusual pain early.

• Personal care and mobility

  Help with bathing, feeding, changing position, and moving safely, including for bedridden patients.

• Vitals and visit notes

  Checking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen, and blood sugar, making sure medicines are taken on time, and recording each visit for the family and our care team.

• Freshers welcome

  There is no minimum experience. If you have just qualified, you can apply.

• Women and men

  Families ask for both female and male nurses, so we hire both.

• Full-time or part-time

  Full-time pay is ₹25,000 to ₹50,000+ a month, and part-time work is paid per visit. You can choose both.

Support on every visit

• Doctor support

  Our in-house general physician, Dr. Nabeel Ameen, reviews prescriptions and discharge notes and advises you by video when something needs escalating.

• Care coordinators

  Our care coordination team schedules your visits around each patient’s care plan and keeps the family updated.

• Clear clinical orders

  For injections, IV therapy, and catheter or tube care, you work from the treating doctor’s documented instructions.
